Rossetta is an incredible matchup nightmare for opponents with his special combination of size, strength, athleticism, and skill and there was not a whole lot St. Bernard’s could do whenever he got the ball – especially down low. The rising senior overpowered defenders inside for a number of buckets directly from post-ups or drives to the basket and couldn’t be contained on the offensive glass, which led to a handful of putbacks. Skilled with the ball in his hands, Rossetta also flashed great interior passing for some dimes. In all, team highs of 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists in a clutch overtime win.

Arguably the top overall athlete in the entire league, Rossetta took his talents from quarterbacking the football team to dominating the hardwood. The junior forward is a beast to handle down on the block but not only has the mobility and athleticism to face the basket and attack, but the touch on his shot to hit threes. He’s one of the state’s top rebounders and routintely has to battle double teams and defenses that specifically try to neutralize him.

Tough game that was decided on the aforementioned buzzer beater, but Rosetta did his best to keep the Cavemen in competition. We’re pretty convinced there may be no better all-around rebounder than the rising junior, who could not be kept off the glass on both ends as he not only used his strength and athleticism, but knowledge of positioning and motor to get boards both in and out of his area. He paced the Cavemen with 23 points and 10 rebounds. (JT)
