Mariles worked his way into the starting lineup for the CIF State Division 1 champion Damien high school squad that was one of the best offensive teams in the state. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard was a key piece to Damien’s Baseline League championship and its selection to the Southern Section Open Division playoff field. Mariles’ overall numbers might not jump off the page like some of the other freshmen in the region, but don’t be surprised if he becomes the best scorer of the bunch as he has one of the smoothest and most consistent perimeter jumpers of them all.
