Eric Wallace | Prep Hoops Scout
A new arrival at The Academy of Central Florida for his senior season, Sanchez is a skilled, left handed wing with good positional size who has continued his strong momentum this fall. He is a talented perimeter shot maker with range beyond the arc and the ability to score effectively in the midrange. Sanchez is comfortable knocking down shots off the catch or creating his own offense off the dribble, giving him versatility as a scoring threat. With a high basketball IQ, he knows how to find scoring opportunities within the flow of the offense.

He was a real lift off the bench as a shooter. He moves without the ball, relocates into open space and lets it go with a quick, fluid release. He knocked down multiple threes from the wings and corners, and his shooting made the defense pay for helping on ACF’s ball screens. The next layer is creating off the bounce; he didn’t show much attacking closeouts or making plays with the dribble. Right now he’s a dependable floor spacer who knows his role.

Sanchez was one of the top performers in the state during the June Live period. The rising senior is a left handed wing with positional size and is a shot maker with range. He can also score in the midrange and knows how to play. Expect his recruitment to continue to trend up.

Another strong showing for Sanchez just hours after lighting it up in a win over Clinton Grace on Friday evening. He picked up where he left off as the lethal southpaw can sink shots in bunches with any sort of time and space. His length and high release makes it difficult even when his defender is timely with a closeout, but the confidence and quickness of his mechanics have piqued the interest of Division I coaches on the sideline and for good reason. He showed some chops and awareness defensively jumping a few passes that led to transition opportunities. He scored 26PTS on 7-of-8 from three in their win over Episcopal. It puts him at 62 percent from three on 26 attempts in three games played this weekend. A true stock-riser thus far.

Sanchez established himself quickly in Academy of Central Florida’s matchup against Clinton Grace with a sideline packed with college coaches. His name was making its way around circles due to his size at 6-foot-7 and his confidence from range that extends well beyond the high school line. The southpaw doesn’t have the typical mechanics that lefties do that are easy on the eyes, but the results speak for themselves as the guard/wing knocked down a handful of trey’s en route to 17PTS. All came off the catch or quick 1-dribble pulls to reestablish his balance before rising up, but it’s clear he has a jumper that can quickly change the course of games when he’s on target like tonight.
