Sommers is becoming more of a two-way threat every day. He is a talented scorer who gets it done in different ways. He’s a crafty finisher who flashes great athleticism around the rim with reverse and hop step layups. As a shooting threat, he has shown he can score on and off the ball. With a crisp right-handed jump shot, Joe is one of the best shooters in 1A. The best part is he’s just a Junior. As he continues to develop his game, Sommers will continue to rise in the rankings, 

Sommers is a smart and mature-minded guard with a shooter’s touch. He is learning how to control tempo, make timely reads, and compete with intensity on both ends. His leadership and IQ make him a player with real value for Sacred Heart.

Sommers attacks and shoots from the arc with conviction, but his defensive consistency and footwork need improvement. Practicing close-outs, chesting up, and lateral slides in drills will round out his two-way game.
