Standing 6’2, he’s a quality defender with the body and strength to defend bigger players in the post area, and out along the perimeter. He positions himself well for weak side help, cuts off driving lanes. He boxes out, battles for rebounds, and hustles up court in transition. He’s starting to use his dribble to attack from the perimeter, and high post, he’s an excellent passer.

Barton is a rising defender in the 2026 class. He has court awareness, good movements, he’s a good help defender, and guards multiple positions. At 6’2 he has the strength to defends bigger players in the post, he boxes out well. He has the foot speed to defend out on the perimeter. Offensively he’s starting to be more aggressive attacking the basket from the perimeter, he had a couple of strong takes to the basket. He’ll rebound, and run.

He’s good on the defensive side of the ball. His awareness, positioning and ability to help will get him minutes. He’s strong, has good lift to go after rebounds, foot speed to defend multiple positions, and strong enough to battle in the paint using his body to box out. His offensive skill set is coming along. He can hit the paint jumper, use a dribble or two to attack, along with good passing skills.
