Russell is a defensive anchor for Newport. He controls the paint using great anticipation and strength. He brings those same qualities to the boards, where he’s proven he’s one of the best rebounders in his class. Playing with multiple skilled guards, Russell has become a great option for dump-off passes. He also shows solid footwork and the ability to create space for himself in the paint.

Russell is the kind of interior anchor you can lean on for stretches without a dip in impact. He controls the paint with strength, timing, and a veteran‑like feel, cleaning the glass and protecting the rim while giving you efficient touches around the basket. His motor and physical presence make him one of the most dependable high‑workload bigs in the class.
