Smith, a guard out of Randolph High School in Massachusetts, had some electric moments on Thursday, impressing with his energy and effort on the defensive end of the floor. The 5’11” guard was all over the place in his team’s pressing defense and created havoc by making plays in passing lanes and quickly converting in transition. He has a quick first step as a driver, does a nice job of finding open teammates once he get the defense to collapse, and even shows the ability to finish with some creativity over size in the paint. On top of that, he stepped confidently into a couple of threes off the bounce and should only get better as a shooter with more reps. It wouldn’t surprise me if he landed on a JuCo roster next year, but he profiles as someone who could play at the Division III level in the right system.
