His approach to getting bucket is very much either a three or rimming it. He can fill it up from outside off the catch and get into rhythm in transition if nobody steps up to stop the ball as he steps into his shot off the bounce. When he isn’t teeing off from three, Thompson is using his quick first step to attack closeouts where he can elude rotating defenders with long step-throughs, euros or revert to burying his shoulder into the contesting big in the air and drawing contact. Through the first 12 games, Thompson was good for 14.6 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.6 steals per contest.

Jayden has made a nice impression on our scout team over the last few weeks. Showed well with the DC Blue Devils making play after play during the summer. Capped off the offseason with a determined effort at the PH Expo, earning all-team honors. Jayden has displayed his clear all-around game, proving his worth as a solid 2-way combo guard. He should see his biggest production come this season as Jayden’s experience has proven to help complete his game. He can change the game with his defense and ability to read the passing lanes. Makes great decisions with the ball and can score effectively from any spot on the floor. Also rebounds the ball well on both sides of the floor.

Jayden earned his spot as a member of the scout selected Third-team All-Expo as a consistent performer through 5on5 play. He did everything you could ask in a prospect to contribute to winning. Jayden used his quick first-step to blow by the defender and finish at the cup, He excelled at making one quick move and getting by the defense to create shifts within the defense. Made plenty of plays scoring the ball and distributing the rock to teammates. Jayden locked down defensively grabbing multiple steals a game and even blocking shots at the basket. All-around star for Team 7 that was solid throughout the day.

Jayden was on the floor doing it all for his team through 5on5. Really came away impressed with his hard work and positive production each game. Some games called for his scoring and ability to create offense. Other games allowed him to showcase his value on the floor as a gritty defender and rebounder. His consistent tough-shot making stood out to me. Jayden looks to be trending in the right direction following a strong summer and solid showcase performance.
