One of the smoothest guards in the class has the type of skillset that’s aesthetically pleasing. A true three level scorer who can hurt defenses in a variety of ways from anywhere on the floor. As a ball handler, Javion is extremely hard to guard due to his quickness and numerous dribble counters. He creates separation with those moves and can either finish at the rim or rise over defenders to sink jumpers. Doesn’t overly rely on outside shooting but can knock them down when needed.

The strength of his game is attacking the rim and mid-range jumpers. Footwork is tough for younger kids to master early on, but Javion’s footwork is superb. From euro steps to reverse pivots and even delayed gather steps, he has it all. With all that he does well offensively, he’s just as good on defense. Picks up opponents’ full court and utilizes his quick hands to pick pocket them when the opportunity presents itself. Fights over screens and gives multiple efforts consistently. South Garner has a good player in Javion, and he’ll stuff the stat book all year, even as a freshman

Javion Massenburg proved he is a well-rounded guard at the Junior Youth Phenom Top 100 MLK Kick-Off, showcasing a shifty handle and a strong sense of confidence with the ball in his hands. As a primary ball handler, he demonstrates excellent control, consistently creating separation off the dribble and attacking defenders in space. Massenburg’s combination of poise, agility, and playmaking ability allows him to navigate traffic, set up teammates, and dictate the pace of the game, making him a true floor general for his team.
