One of the shocking upsets in the tournament came when Vermillion and Arlington knocked off Delphos St John’s in the regional final. A flat out winner, Vermillion impressed me playing for NW Ohio during the grassroots season as a guard who impacted the game in a variety of ways. Vermillion is also the second player featured in this article named to the academic all-Ohio team by the OHSBCA. Vermillion can knock down shots but his intangibles are what set him apart in my eyes, a potential strong small college prospect if he’s interested in continuing his basketball career at the next level.

Vermillion might be the best shooter at this event. He can stroke it from beyond the arc. He has a ton of confidence once he sees 1 shot fall. The ball comes off his hand quickly. When he gets into a rhythm he can change the momentum of a game. He has unlimited range as well. He can shoot the ball off of spotting up or off the move. He also has a high-level IQ for the game. He does not make many mistakes. Great off-ball movement as well. 

Vermillion played huge in the NW Ohio Basketball 17U Semifinals game against the Nova UAA team. His shooting was unbelievable. He was hot and once the ball went in it was tough to stop him. He was hitting shots off the move, off the dribble, and however you can think. He was also making shots from wherever on the floor. It left defenders shaking their heads.
