There’s hardly a player in Topeka we’re looking forward to seeing more than Sanchez. He got his feet wet on the varsity as a freshman. But after a summer of development in the club environment, he should be much more prepared for the athleticism and intensity of varsity ball. He is a big man who can really fill it up. He is a dangerous shooter from deep who knows how to find open opportunities. He can also play with power in the paint.

Sanchez has a knack for putting the ball in the bucket. He is huge and powerful in the paint, has surprising agility and ball handling ability, and can really shoot it. He hunts shots on the perimeter, but showed Saturday that he’s serious about getting it done in the paint too. Having Sanchez on your team means you always have a go-to guy when you need to score.

Sanchez established himself in the T-Birds rotation in the summer and got some valuable experience. He averaged 3 points per outing. But then he really took off over the summer, showing his versatile game is hard to defend. He pulls bigs out of the lane and shoots the lights out over them. He’s a streaky shooter with great confidence in his shot. He’s a big-bodied forward who can score in the midrange and rebound and defend too, but his shooting ability makes him stand out.
