have ran through the CMAC the past two seasons and they went out with a bang. After going to the locker room down 19 points, Aiken quickly rattled off a 15-0 run which was fueled by aggressive play on both ends of the court by Burnett. A guard who applies a lot of pressure as a ball handler, Burnett is consistently in attack mode. Able to make rhythm jumpers or get all the way to the rim, Burnett is a tough cover when he has a head of steam.

I don’t know if anyone showed more emotion on winning this game than Burnett. He was getting the crowd going, playing hard, and was truly not going to leave with anything left in the tank. He finished with 16 points and did a great job of getting the ball in transition and attacking the basket. He would finish through and with traffic. He is a strong and well-built guard that most don’t want to meet at the rim over and over again. This was apparent and he took advantage of that. He did not settle and was tough to stop when he got to his right hand.

averaged 17.2 and 17.3 PPG respectively. A quick guard who shoots a high volume from the outside, Brunett has the ability to beat you with his outside shot and his slashing ability off the bounce. It was fitting that the only game I caught of Burnett this season was his season high 37 points Vs Western Hills to clinch the conference title. Burnett also gets after it from the point of attack defensively, averaging 2 steals a game due to his pressure. For Burnett to rise in our rankings, he’ll need to take a step as a playmaker, he averaged 2 assists and 2 turnovers a game this winter.

Burnett, like Arnold, had a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to give Aiken momentum as the third quarter ended. An impressive shooter, Burnett hit 3’s off the catch while running off screens and spotting up against the zone defense Western Hills threw at Aiken. With soft touch on jumpers, Burnett got the friendly bounce on a couple mid-range shots as well. Burnett and Arnold are a fun pair to watch as we prepare for the playoffs.
