Huffman was a highlight reel player on both ends of the floor. He was the top rim protector in the gym. Huffman had more than 1 statement making block. He was even able to get down and guard the ball at the showcase.

What exactly do we write here? I mean, he had some highlight-reel plays. I’ve covered every Michigan Freshman Showcase we’ve had, and I haven’t been more impressed than I was with Huffman. He catches high and finishes high, but he’s not just young and tall. Huffman can flat out see the floor and pass the ball. I saw him throw a pass downcourt that was where it needed to be and when it needed to be there. Huffman even seems to know when to swing the ball and doesn’t let it collect dust in his hands.

If there was a camp MVP award, it would’ve gone to Jackson. It’s very exciting to see a big-time prospect like Huffman play solid, team basketball at a showcase event. For an incoming freshman, Jackson does a bunch of things very well, like throwing impactful passes in a variety of situations. His long arms grace him with being able to launch effective outlet and shovel passes from different angles. My favorite aspect of Huffman’s game is his physicality. Doesn’t matter if he’s getting bumped while dribbling, grabbed when elevating for a rebound, or hacked when he’s attempting a layup or dunk, Jackson plays through it. The cherry on top was him being a great teammate all day on the court and the sidelines.

I’ve seen Huffman play a decent amount, and the young man has a chance at being special. Listed at 6’7″, I kind of think that he’s taller than that. His wingspan would say so. Huffman is mobile and, get this, is an underrated passer. I really like his mobility and the way his confidence in his game has grown.

A 2030 leading a varsity team is definitely noteworthy. In his team’s last game before break he scored a game high 17 points. The 6-7 forward will draw a lot of eyes over the years so we may as well start now. Huffman could be dominant tonight against Litchfield.
