Bates continues to showcase his shooting ability along with other skills. Bates is a consistent hooper who can also facilitate and make plays on the defensive side of the ball. The long ball is the preferred weapon, but now his mid-range has improved, and he finishes more consistently at the rim. Bates has improved in all areas, and a recent 21-point performance vs Ringold, he showcased his abilities.

Bates is known around the Shreveport area for his ability to knock down the three ball. If he catches it and can see the goal, he will take the shot and the bet is that he will make it. When he really gets going it can be an all-out show watching him knock down long range shots. The roster has changed a bit at BTW, but this opens the door for him to explore his game and expand his scoring opportunities. Bates has all of the skills required to conitinue his offensive ascension in the game. Coaches keep an eye on Bates this season if you are looking for a knock down shooter.
