Another 2027 wing who is naturally gifted and showed flashes of those gifts on Saturday. Can be a high flying around the rim with his lift and long arms. Those moments were most apparent in transition. In the halfcourt, tended to float a bit along the perimeter too often. Which he can hit from distance but he has the ability to be much more than a floor spacer. Honestly, based on how he moves Thompson is likely still growing. Giving him a gangly aspect to his game, which makes him a bit raw right now. And could mean that his ceiling is quite high, as he could look a completely different player in six months.

A high flying guard/wing prospect, who looks ready to take off for his new program. Long arms and good athleticism makes it look easy for him in transition, from the way he covers ground to finishing above the rim. Beyond the flash of the dunk highlights, there’s the promise of unselfish passing. Along with moments of gritty play with rebounds, defensive hustle and positioning. The signs are there for a junior year breakout.

Thompson has continued to grow and with strong athleticism, is now a dynamic wing. He’s retained the guard skill foundation he had while younger, making him a very interesting prospect. Especially with the flashes of above the rim play from this spring. There’s always late bloomers, who jump a level or two to be among Oklahoma’s better prospects in each class. And the raw traits are there for Thompson to be that in the Class of 2027.

Thompson is growing into a guard/wing that has ideal size and quality shooting from beyond the arc. Looks to be at his best as a catch and shoot weapon. But also did deliver some off the dribble, which included a smooth “hop” gather that allowed him to create space to hit from deep. One area of improvement that would be good to see heading into his sophomore year is improving on the defensive end. With his long arms and size, he could be real havoc causer with the right mindset.
