Expert Analysis
Matthew Champion | Prep Hoops Scout
Isaiah has a beautiful touch on his jumper, and his range extends nicely beyond the arc where he knows how to get to his spots. He’s a patient guard that doesn’t get flustered and works his way into the best opportunities available on each possession. He has a nice ballhandling ability that he pairs with solid footwork to dizzy his opponents into submission. His awareness is off the charts, and his hands are dangerous – consistently picking passes and causing havoc for his opponents. He has an impressive passing ability and elevates his teammates when kicking off the drive to provide them with easy, open attempts.

Isaiah is a shifty, talented two-way combo guard that can affect the game tremendously for his squad on both ends. He’s a great finisher at the basket and makes impressive heads-up passes on the break that result in guaranteed points for his teammates. I love how intense he is on defense – constantly crowding his opponent and making them uncomfortable. He has quick hands and is skilled at poking the ball out of his opponent’s hands without fouling and then beating them to it for an easy steal and bucket on the other end. He’s got a nice jumper, but he doesn’t rely on it unnecessarily – his aggression on offense is refreshing and he drives to the paint with elite ballhandling more times than not. Robinson is turning more and more heads and the attention is well deserved.

Isaiah is a quick, clever combo guard with handles for days that can break the sturdiest of ankles. He’s tenacious on both ends of the floor and he always brings the energy to every play. He’s a gamechanger for his squad – one of those players with the ability to motivate his entire team with the level of his effort and hustle. I love his patience – often passing up his first and second chances to put it up in order to use his elite footwork and work himself into a much higher-percentage opportunity. He’s skilled at snatching the ball from his opponent without fouling and can be a sprightly menace on the defensive end. He’s vocal on the floor with a great passing ability and he always finds a way to lift his teammates up. Looking forward to seeing plenty more of Robinson’s play.

Isaiah is an absolute menace on the defensive side of the ball. You can tell he makes that a big focus in his development and that he spends significant time on it behind the scenes. He has some of the fastest hands I’ve seen recently and he’s an expert at swiping the ball without creating contact and gaining extra possessions for his team. He’s incredibly effective on the break with excellent court vision and a solid passing ability. He knows how to make good decisions quickly and he can take it all the way himself or find a teammate for an easy bucket when he attracts defenders. I love to watch elite defenders and I feel like Robinson is well on his way to being an extremely effective two-way player. If he’s already this good, there’s no telling how dominant he’ll be once he’s a senior. His potential is huge and the sky is the limit for him.
