Chalupa has been on a nice basketball run since this summer and fall. That trend is continuing during high school ball. He was a good old fashioned playmaker in the fall and apparently still is, as he already has a points and rebounds double-double to his name this season. Chalupa is an underrated overall athlete that can finish above the rim.

I was really glad that I got a couple chances to see Chalupa play this summer. His game thrived off of toughness, grit and hustle. Chalupa seemed to bring a toughness to the floor. He just seemed to have a nose for the ball near the rim and the ability to make plays on it.

Chalupa grabbed my attention at the David Barns Showcase both early and late. Early on, it was his ability to effect the game without having to be shot heavy. He was grinding for loose balls and playing both ends of the floor. Late in the day, Chalupa showed a nose for the ball and a knack for finding hard earned high percentage buckets around the rim.
