Matus was very impressive as he averaged roughly 20 points a game over the two-day event. In the semi-final game Matus faced a very physical opponent in Cactus Canyon. Matus thrived in that environment. He led the nighthawks with 24 points. Attacking the paint and finishing very well through contact. Matus showed the ability to matchup up well with other top prospects at the event. A no brainer for a coach looking for a player who can be impactful on both sides of the ball. This is the first viewing of Matus since transferring to Ironwood Ridge. He shot the ball really well. Came off the bench and immediately knocked down a three. He was shooting the ball confidently going 4/7 from the perimeter. Matus is a very high IQ player and doesn’t waste possessions. Makes high level reads and executes. Strong on ball defender and just as dangerous off the ball picking off passes and disrupting the offenses plays. Matus is looking to have a strong second half of the season for the Nighthawks.
