About Harrison

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

My gameplay style focuses upon precision, leverage and strength. Defensively, my "guy" does not score. My job is to disrupt - I take away passing lanes, beat my opponent to his spot and contest every shot. Offensively, I make my team better by seeing the court, passing the ball and taking high percentage shots. Every basket attempt is an opportunity to rebound -and I love the boards.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

On a basketball court, I am a competitor. If I knock you down, I will be the first to offer a hand. Regardless, I will not let up. Off the court, I am very easy-going. After games, I often seek out the player that I played the hardest and shake his hand. I like to joke around and lift up others.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am a member of the National Honor Society and a frequent participant in the Ohio Math League.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I enjoy working with others and volunteer my time with inner-city youth. For the last five years, I have worked with chess clubs in priority districts. I am currently pursuing a spot with West Point Military Academy's Summer Leadership Experience (SLE) program. The best leaders lead by example.

A midwest fall league standout, Gill got on our radar due to his consistent production and high motor. A good rebounder for his size, Gill plays with a lot of energy and is effective at scoring on the interior. Gill had a big early season game against Westland and is looking to carry over some of that momentum as he continues his junior season. As a senior, I’d expect Gill to be the leader of a Thomas Worthington program that has developed some strong college prospects in the past few years.

Gill immediately made an impact in the first game I caught on Saturday morning, impacting the game in a variety of ways. One of the taller players on the court, Gill did a nice job of getting in position to get offensive rebounds and score on putbacks. The stretch forward also has a smooth looking 3-point shot which he used to help space the floor for his team in the half-court, knocking down a couple open ones. I caught both of Gill’s games on Saturday and he was one of the most productive players on the court in both contests.
