-Muhammad’s ability to score it at an efficient clip while being the focal point of each defense he faces proves his value at this level and the next. With a deceptively shifty handle that gets him into his pull-up quickly from all 3 levels, Muhammad is a difficult cover because he can pull up, hit movement shots, score at the rim with power or around defenders in the paint with finesse. Consistently puts up 25-30 a game to keep his team within striking distance of some good teams.

31p 5r 3a 1b vs Glenelg
-Muhammad overcame a rough shooting start for the game by getting his team (and by extension, himself) going in transition. Muhammad’s full scoring bag was on display from the second quarter on to keep the lead under 20 and to as few as 9 throughout the game. He scored off a floater, hit a transition 3, had a beautiful dime through the trap to the backdoor cutter, hit a face up wing 3, hit a filthy spin move in traffic into the lay off glass, hit a buzzer beating 3 at the end of the 3Q, executed a high pickup euro step to score at the rim, and hit a layup to make it a 9 point game midway through the 4Q. I thought his attention to detail defensively was much better on the ball, with the highlight being a good recovery block on the ball when he showed too hard in help on a ball screen. His ability to score from all 3 levels against a variety of defenders makes him one of the most valuable players to his team in the area.

Another statement performance from the prolific-scoring guard Haki. Led New Hope to an undefeated stint at the Challenge, walking away with a bracket championship. Showed again he can perform with extreme efficiency and lead the rest of the Tigers to the W. Picked his spots to score when he felt he could attack best. Finished very well at the cup and avoided blocks well with nice finishes. Plays both ends of the floor at a high-level, something I’m starting to appreciate more and more from Haki’s game. Seems to take a step in the right direction after every game even in his senior season. Scouts need to be watching what Haki is starting to put together with this NHA national squad.

One of the better games I’ve seen from Haki recently. He was clearly one of the best, if not the best player on the floor. He seemed to make the right decision with the ball all game, even if it didn’t result in a made field goal. He could score at will with his size and handle, sinking a couple fadeaways and pull-ups from the midrange. His points came very efficiently, took high percentage shots most of the game. Came up clutch in the 4th quarter to put things away, hitting a couple three pointers and making solid passes that resulted in baskets. Stayed active defensively too, grabbing a couple steals and finishing in transition. Really liked the combination of baskets Haki put together, scoring on the inside and outside, getting to the free-throw line strategically. Strong outing in the opening game at MABC that earned him the game MVP.

24p 1r 1a vs Quality Education
Muhammad showed the full set of scoring skills despite his team’s loss to a good QEA team, finishing with 56/40/80 shooting splits. The shifty guard darts quickly through seams in traffic and can beat his matchup to the spot to finish around the basket because he can execute on some real sharp driving angles to get downhill. Although he’s very quick with the ball in his hands, I liked the balance on his pull-up both going towards the baseline and fading from the elbow. Would like to see him use that quickness at the defensive end to really bother taller defenders, he has the IQ to know where to be– just needs to execute staying in his defender’s hip without fouling. Impressive motor throughout the game depsite the score.
