Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
Wollum is one of the most intriguing long-term prospects not only in Class 1A, but in the state as a whole. He’s a legit 6-8 forward who can jump out of the gym, step out and stretch the floor with a smooth, picturesque stroke, and protect the rim defensively. He averaged 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks on 53-41-61 shooting splits as a junior, and was one of the standout performers at our Iowa Expo earlier this month.

This was my first time getting a live look at Wollum, and needless to say, he was extremely impressive and will be due for a massive, massive jump up the rankings when they are updated again in December. A legit 6-8 big man with mobility and a ton of bounce, he was a standout on both ends of the floor with his ability to protect the rim and control the glass, as well as score from all three levels. He has a smooth stroke out to the 3-point line, good footwork and touch on the block on post touches, and arguably his most impressive skill was his passing, zipping the ball to open teammates out of the high post and showing impressive court vision. He caught the eye of several college coaches who were in the building.

Wollum was really productive as a junior for the Lions, averaging 16.9 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.4 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game on 53-41-61 shooting splits. With his ability to stretch the floor at 6-7/6-8, as well as protect the paint defensively, he’s the type of player who could thrive in this setting and garner some serious college interest with a strong showing.
