Marist dodesn’t win the state title without the contributions of Lombardi – period. The 6-foot-4 forward set up shop in the high post, where he would get the ball to open teammates (like in the quarterfinals when he posted 9 assists vs. Molalla) or take it straight to the rack (21 points in the semis against Estacada and another 15 in the finals). A solid combination of strength and athleticism, he proved to be a matchup problem as the future college baseball standout averaged 14.3 points and 6.3 assists.
