Expert Analysis
Andrew Baxley | Prep Hoops Scout
Evan was a standout performer last year at the Chick-fil-A Classic as well. He is a True Point Guard that you can count on to be a leader on the floor. His ability to play multiple roles on the offensive end will be very helpful at the college level. He is very good as a passer and running set offenses but he also is a high-level shooter and can even finish around bigger defenders at the rim. Sterck averaged 13 Points Per Game, 3.7 Assists Per Game, and 2 Steals Per Game across 3 Games for The Rock School this week.

Watching Sterck right off the bat, it is hard to believe he is only a sophomore. Not only does the guard play with a high level of basketball IQ, but also a cool, calm and collected demeanor at all time. When he is running the offense as he often is for The Rock, the game just comes so easy, almost always hitting his teammates pitch perfect in the shooters pocket for easy buckets.

It’s not often that you see a player that understands how the PG position is truly played and is only in his sophomore year of high but that’s the case for this young man. He plays the game with a maturity well beyond his years, communicates well with his teammates and coaches, doesn’t take many bad shots and most importantly, he’s not a guard that turns the ball over very often.
