Olson was with Sanford’s top 14U team this past offseason. I’ve seen him with them and he was also at the Dakotas Freshman Showcase. He’s a laser-focused and technically-sound team defender. He’s always ready to step over in help-side position to stop a drive to the hoop. He has has a solid and developing offensive skill-set. He’s not going to score 40 or anything at this point in time, but he can handle the rock and play as a point as well as off ball. Takes care of the rock with his handle and on-target passing.

Olson is a defensive technician with a competitive spirit and attentiveness on that end. Does a good job with his own individual matchup, while also being a team defender. Plays gaps and is in correct position. Offensively, he’s a solid ball-handler, passer, and finisher, with his three needing some improvement going forward.

I saw Olson a year ago and he looks like he grew physically, in height and frame, a decent amount. His quick handle and quickness off the dribble pops out first.
