Mweli is another forward whose versatility makes him well suited for the modern game. His ability to move up or down the lineup defensively was on display as Bridgeport Prep faced two very different challenges in Neumann-Goretti and Massanutten. His length and quick feet allow him to defend on the perimeter while also providing value as a rim protector. Offensively, he was effective as a slasher and showed the ability to finish around the basket.

Mweli is a freak athlete with long arms, a high-octane motor, and special athleticism. The 6-foot-8 wing is literally built out of a lab to play division 1 basketball at the wing position. But what’s intriguing is he also has a budding outside shot and some really solid touch around the hoop—better than you’d expect given his athletic tools. Mweli was dominant for Team New England during July’s Live Period but will play his winter ball at Iowa United Prep, so he’s not nearly as well known around this area, but his performances during July put him on the map.

Mweli is an active forward who uses his length to glide to different places on the floor. He is a switchable defender who covers ground with ease and is light on his feet. He excels as a slasher. He does a nice job running the floor. Mweli is patient around the bucket and doesn’t look to rush into scoring chances. He has good thing when going up to alter shots. He shags passes like a wide-out and has soft hands. Looking forward to he breaking out this upcoming season this winter. Should be a priority name in New England.
