Expert Analysis
Joe Esquivel-Murphy | Prep Hoops Scout
Phillips came up from North Carolina and made his impact felt throughout the day. The 6’2 guard was at his best attacking the basket as he finished strong around the rim and was able to draw contact in the paint. Phillips also showed the ability to score in the mid-range and made opponents pay for giving him space behind the arc. He made it tough for his man to get to their spot on the floor and pushed the pace well in transition. Phillips also showed the ability to play on the ball, which he should put on display throughout the season.

Phillips is proving why he’s a name to monitor in the 2027 class with two big games for Crossroads Christian in blowout wins over Ridgecroft and Cresset Christian, scoring 28 and 20 points respectively. He’s a capable shooter from deep, knocking down 8 threes over those games to add to his 29 made threes on the year, and shown he can control the game as a scorer when he can get to his spots. Working on becoming a good playmaker and distributor as well.

Phillips is a confident scoring guard with a ton of prowess already handling and shooting the basketball at his grade level. He’ll look to translate his game in his freshman debut at Crossroads Christian under head coach Scottie Richardson. He should make a splash on the varsity stage as a 2027 prospect.
