Michael Roth | Prep Hoops Scout
A late blooming forward with some really intriguing physical upside, Hudson is a prospect that you’ll want to check out. With his perimeter shooting ability and run and jump athleticism, Hudson can hurt you from the perimeter and slashing to the basket. Starting to turn his skill and natural talent into more consistent production, Hudson recently stood out at the Prep Hoops Grit Memorial Classic. College coaches can check him out with Lexington at Midwest Live later in the month of June.

The last game of the night I watched featured Hudson’s Team Xcel squad that had an impressive weekend. Hudson was on a different level athletically from the competition with numerous blocks on the defensive end. With his size, he’s a force around the rim offensively and stepped out to knock down a few jumpers. His aggressiveness on the offensive end also earned him a couple early trips to the free throw line where he was able to build the lead for his team. A prospect to watch for scholarship programs, there’s a lot of long-term upside on Hudson. The duo on the interior he formed with Ethan Payne Ethan Payne 6'5" | C Northridge-Johnstown | 2024 OH was tough to stop all weekend for Team Xcel.

Hudson had a breakout Junior season with his size, athleticism and shooting ability at 6’8. A name for college programs to get to know.

Hudson was a prospect who caught my eyes with his athleticism, it’s not often you see players at his height throwing down some of the dunks he was pulling off in warmups. Still has a ways to go in his development, which isn’t uncommon for taller prospects, it was encouraging to see Hudson impact the game at the varsity level for a Lexington squad that won a lot of games this winter. A capable shooter from the outside, there were games where Hudson would knock down three or more 3-pointers in a contest. This is a very intriguing prospect who I want to catch again this summer.

Hudson was a guy who caught my eye when he was throwing down some nasty dunks in warm-ups of Midwest Live action. Hudson is pretty raw as a prospect right now but his physical tools are incredibly eye-popping. Hudson is a guy who could make a big leap in the next 12 months and a name to monitor in the north central part of the state that sometimes gets overlooked.
