Player Eval Notes:
Interior forward size with mobility and instincts.
Above the rim play in transition, willing passer.
Development is needed on coordination, post footwork, and two-way toughness.
Skillset & Style: Versatile forward who thrives as a mismatch problem. Physical enough to bang inside, but agile enough to face up and attack slower defenders.
Key Highlight: Sent the gym buzzing with a two-handed dunk to kick off the session, pure energy that shifted momentum.
Next Step: Refine his footwork and touch around the rim. The athletic ability and rim protection are there; polishing his post moves will make him more than just a defensive anchor.
Burgess is a long, mobile big who’s starting to assert himself as a rim protector and vertical spacer. His coordination has taken a leap, he’s running the floor harder, catching in traffic, and finishing with better body control. There’s a budding face-up game here, too, with flashes of a high-release jumper. Defensively, he’s altering shots and showing improved lateral movement.
