A more off-the-radar big man who has a very high ceiling is Gough. He plays at 3A Union County High School, and although a lot of people don’t know about him, he was a key player for the Yellow Jackets as a freshman. Eli was quite effective on the defensive end of the floor while showing signs of growing comfortable in his body on the offensive end, so when he puts it all together, he will be a great player.

On the opposite side of the age spectrum for the Yellow Jackets, their freshman big man also stood out in their first-round win as he went for 10 points. Defensively, Eli was great, racking up 3 blocks and 2 steals while making several more passes and shots more difficult because of his size. He looks like he is starting to figure out how to be effective in his body, and right now, that looks like being a strong rim protector and a consistent inside finisher. Gough had a few important transition finishes across the game, showing a desire to run the floor.
