Paul Hernandez | Prep Hoops Scout
Britt is a lengthy and active player that is a versatile perimeter defender, can stretch the floor with the 3-ball, and earns trips to the line by attacking the defense relentlessly. The 6-foot-5 wing/guard has solid handles, uses the hesitation and crossover to create space from his defender, uses his long strides to get into the paint, and makes nice use of the Euro-step and reverse lay-ups to evade length at the basket. Britt moves well off the ball to get open looks off the catch, can space the floor with the 3-ball, and draws fouls routinely, as was evident with his 13 foul shots in the loss to DNA Prep. Britt has active hands, the lateral quickness to stay in front of his opponent, uses his wingspan to deflect passes and jump passing lanes, and has good timing for chase-down blocks in the open court. Britt had a team high 15 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals, showing off his ability to impact both ends of the court.

-Liked his contributions as a productive wing prospect that can serve as an on-ball creator or as a connector that moves well to vulnerable spaces in the defense to make the one-more pass to shooters or his bigs lurking in the dunker’s spot. Britt collected steals and turned them into layups or FTs, valued the basketball in the halfcourt by making the simple play, served as a nice release valve for fullcourt defensive schemes either on the ball or in the middle of the floor, and hit perimeter jumpers. The handle is developing nicely to allow him to take advantage of long strides to the basket and he showed improved patience around the defense to wait a beat or hit his defender with a pump fake around the rim to send them flying out of the play. Definitely a name for college coaches to track out of NY’s 2027 class.

One of the breakouts across the state so far this grassroots season has been Britt, who continued his strong start to the spring over the course of two games with Lightning on Saturday. A lanky wing guard, he stands out with a frame–long arms, high shoulders, wiry strength–brimming with potential for the next level. The go-to guy at Weehawken this past season, he shows an ability to fit in efficiently alongside other jumpers, playing maturely off his jump shot in the halfcourt setting while showcasing a smooth high release from the perimeter. His flashes as a scorer and playmaker off the dribble at his size point to an intriguing upside to tap into while remaining somewhat of a sleeper up until this point.
