Wardrop blocked a 3-pointer, had some strong rebounds and had a handful of assists as a secondary playmaker. Despite struggling as a perimeter shooter on Saturday, Wardrop’s impact was noticeable and his addition back to the lineup makes Toledo Central Catholic a state title threat in Division III.

Toledo Central Catholic sends players to the college level for football, basketball, baseball, you name the sport, they probably have talented athletes in. A rangy middle infielder, Wardrop announced a commitment to Oakland back in April to join their baseball program. Coming off a first team all district and honorable mention all Ohio season, Wardrop will have even bigger goals in 2026.

Wardrop can really shoot the basketball off the catch as his movement shooting ability is hard to find. He was named to the Detroit Catholic League all league team after averaging 12 points, 3.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists a contest. I’ve started to see more baseball-basketball multi-sport athletes in the past few years and Wardrop is one of the best in Ohio. We’ll see if he can make some big plays this March as Toledo Central Catholic will look to make a run in a tricky Division III northwest region.

A prospect who is known for being a standout on the diamond, Wardop has had a strong Junior season for Toledo Central Catholic as a knockdown shooter off the ball. Catching and shooting with confidence when he was given time and space, Wardop made the defense pay for losing him on the perimeter. I was also impressed with his feel on the ball as he made a handful of impressive passes in transition for assist opportunities. Wardop also knocked down shots just before the first and third quarter buzzer, giving his team some momentum. Wardop is one of the top multi-sport athletes in the Toledo area and a name to know in 2026.

Wardop is a baseball first kid who proved he can hang with some of the top basketball talent in the area. An impressive athlete who can play above the rim, Wardop had some tough finishes at the rim with either hand. Also a knockdown perimeter shooter, Wardop showed some impressive versatility on Sunday.
