It was a crowded backcourt for the Blythewood High School this season, but there was still plenty to be excited about with Mickle. With his ability to set up others and consistently knock down jumpers, he added a level of balance to this Bengal offense. Mix in his senior experience and defensive playmaking, and Donovan has a very well-rounded game. He is also an excellent student off the court with a 3.7 GPA, and received his first offer from Kansas Christian College in late January.

Mickle made the move from Westwood HS to Blythewood HS right before the start of the school year. He was a new addition in the June Rankings, and now makes a big jump in September thanks to a strong end to his summer with Carolina Pressure . Donovan holds an offer from Division 3 Dean College.

Mickle is the first of two Westwood High/CPB 2026s who caught my eye defensively in their win over Carolina Courts Elite. Donovan is more of a specialty defender – a guy who looks to crash the glass and run the break as well as make plays in pressure. He excelled throughout the weekend in transition, often taking the ball coast-to-coast for a layup or a dump-off assist to a teammate. In Game One Friday, Mickle had a pair of steals on inbounds passes while pressing full-court, both leading to easy layups for himself.
