About Donnell

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a combo guard who values running the offense, moving the ball, and keeping the team organized. Offensively, I space the floor for knockdown threes, stay active for cuts, & can create with dribble pull-ups and floaters when needed. Defensively, I focus on communication, positioning, and team coverage in both man and zone without over-gambling.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

Overall, I bring high energy, and consistency on both ends, and I stay locked in every possession doing whatever it takes to help my team win. I’m serious on the court, but off the court I’m a great friend and a funny person to those that know me.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I also value leadership & giving back to my community. I’ve participated in a Thanksgiving drive & have supported donation efforts by going through my own things with my mom to provide items for those in need. I’ve also helped with food drives to raise money and support families facing challenges. I enjoy giving back whenever I have the opportunity & being part of something that helps others.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A recent challenge was recently losing our dog Bubba, he was 8. He got sick and as a family we had to make the decision to put him down. It felt like losing my best friend and it was one of the hardest things I’ve had to go through. It taught me to appreciate the moments more, not take things for granted, and value the time you have with the people and pets you care about.

What type of college are you looking for?

I want to play D1 or D2 basketball and hopefully earn a scholarship to help my mom with college costs since she works hard to support my game. Basketball means a lot to me, but I also care about school. I’m interested in a sports-related major or veterinary science. My goal is to succeed in both basketball and academics and build a strong future.
