Offensively, he attacked the defense to create paint touches and delivered several clean assists that led to quality looks. Defensively, Spruell picked up full court, applied relentless on ball pressure, and came away with multiple steals. Spruell looked like one of the most complete offensive guards in the gym. His scoring versatility was on display throughout the day — from finishing at the rim with either hand, to knocking down jumpers off the dribble, to stretching the floor with range from beyond the arc. He had defenders guessing with his shot fakes and footwork, often creating space to rise up for clean looks. In transition, he was equally effective, using his athleticism and control to put pressure on the defense. What made Spruell stand out wasn’t just his ability to score, but how easily he made it look. He didn’t force shots; he simply took advantage of whatever the defense gave him. That efficiency, combined with his natural scoring instincts, suggests Spruell has the kind of offensive upside that can translate at higher levels. With his ability to break down defenders and score in multiple ways, he was clearly one of the guards who boosted his stock at NMJC.
