Martin is a water-bug point guard for the Fury. The Fury are eligible to play in the postseason this season with the school just opening 3 years ago.
DJ can push the tempo or play back in the half-court set when needed. Martin saw himself jump from #66 to #53 in this latest update of the 2025 Palmetto State Rankings. Can the Fury claim a spot in the playoffs this season?

DJ coincidentally makes this list as a 3rd Player from Class AAA Region 2. He had a very good summer playing for Upward Stars Upstate 16U and Fountain Inn High School. While he might not have the prestige among the state as some of the other players in this edition of my SC Summer Standouts, Martin performed as well as any Guard over the past 3 Months. He is a True Point Guard who gets paint touches at will, and is capable of finishing around bigger bodies, knocking down jump shots off the dribble, or finding a teammate for an open shot.

Martin is another Guard from the Palmetto State that impressed on Saturday at the Phenom Hardwood Classic. DJ, who plays for Upward Stars Upstate 16U, is a left-handed guard that excels driving downhill and putting pressure on opposing defenses. He has a good feel for the game and balances scoring and facilitating very well, which has been on display several times this summer during the High School Period and the AAU Season alike.
