About Desmond

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a high-IQ playmaker who prioritizes getting teammates involved while remaining a threat to score. I excel at controlling the tempo, navigating pick-and-rolls, and providing lockdown on-ball defense.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I have a 'lead by example' mentality. I stay level-headed under pressure, communicate constantly on the floor, and focus on being the best teammate possible to ensure a winning culture.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

am a consistent Honor Roll student. I’ve also received 'Student of the Month' awards for my work ethic in the classroom.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I’ve developed strong leadership skills by leading team warm-ups and keeping teammates focused during high-pressure games. I’ve learned that being a leader means being the first one in the gym and the last one to leave.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

Balancing a rigorous academic schedule with a demanding travel basketball season has been a challenge. It forced me to develop elite time-management skills and stay disciplined with my priorities to succeed in both areas. And faced a significant challenge coming back from [Broken Thumb ] last season. The recovery process taught me patience and discipline, and I worked twice as hard.

What type of college are you looking for?

am looking for a school where I can make a meaningful impact on the court and grow as a person. I am open to different locations and levels as long as the program has a competitive environment and a strong sense of community.
