Expert Analysis
Spencer Pulliam | Prep Hoops Scout
De’Rius Thompson displayed high-level lead guard qualities at the BallIsWife Camp and consistently made the players around him better. His quick handle and explosive first step allowed him to get an advantage off the dribble, while a sharp hesitation gave him another way to keep defenders off balance. Thompson already possesses an advanced collection of tools for a young point guard, especially with his ability to create and initiate offense. With plenty of physical and skill development still ahead, he has the makings of an elite lead guard in the Class of 2032.
