A very young player is already attracting a lot of attention on Long Island. He is already a very strong framed player. Understands the importance of post position. Sets really good wide strong screens with the ability to roll or rescreen . Has shown a quick release on face up baseline jumpers. Keeps his hands high on the catch . Has sown good vision on kick outs and then reposting. Can knock down foul line jumper. Protects the ball can get to the rim off of 2-3 dribbles is not rushed at all in the paint. Knows what he wants to do with the ball.

At just 14 years old, he stands an imposing 6’8” and uses his strong frame to control the paint. He has a clear understanding of how to leverage his size to establish himself as a reliable post presence. His midrange spot-up shooting is developing, showing promise in catch-and-shoot situations. At the Pangos All-East Frosh/Soph Camp, he flashed potential as a rebounder who can initiate the break. He also sets solid screens, creating space and opportunities for his teammates

We admittedly didn’t get to see too much of Hansen during our time at camp but what we did see in just a short span was enough to earn him a spot on this list. Named a Top-60 all-star for his overall performance, the New York native showed an impressive foundation as a skilled inside-out presence up front. He looked to have naturally soft hands and swift footwork in the post with comfort stepping out to shoot soft-touch jumpers and operate through basic decisions off the dribble. We’ll be monitoring Hansen closely moving forward as he figures to make an instant impact in Long Island if what he showed on Sunday is any indication.
