About Demonte
Expert Analysis
Thomas Hofler III | Prep Hoops Scout
Demonte Powe, a guard from Mississippi, played with Dirty South Elite during the Grind Region Finals. He is incredibly confident in his offensive prowess, capable of causing significant damage to defenses with his impressive range and quickness downhill. However, it was his performance in the game that truly surprised me on the offensive end. Throughout my observation of his game, he consistently demonstrated his ability to make plays as the team’s point guard.
What’s Next for Demonte?
Demonte currently isn’t widely discussed as a college prospect, which I find quite surprising. Although he has this fall and next year to refine his game, I believe he has the potential to play at the next level. However, he must prioritize his development. His scoring ability and ability to read the floor effectively will be crucial for his upcoming junior year.

Demonte Powe is a confident shooter from range who excelled at creating his own shot in that area. He will pull up in defenders’ faces if he feels like he has the room to shoot the ball. In terms of getting to the rim he has crafty ways of blowing by his defenders. Playing the guard position, he held his own on defense sticking to his assignments. Demonte can control the pace playing the point guard position making good reads throughout the weekend. This weekend he was playing in the 17U division as a 15-year-old competing against players older than him fitting right in.
