Deloni brings to the floor a floor-general skill set with the ability to create offense for himself and others. He can attack the rim, draw defensive attention, and make plays for teammates. His shooting adds another dimension to his floor game, giving him a way to threaten the defense beyond his pursuit of the paint. For a team with several guards who are comfortable with the rock, Deloni’s ability to balance scoring and facilitating will be important. Knowing when to attack, when to deliver the pass, and when to keep the offense moving can help connect DCA’s individual strengths. He has the tools to play a meaningful role in establishing the Wildcats’ offensive rhythm.

Deloni showed the foundation of a small guard who can organize possessions and create paint touches. He was comfortable initiating offense, getting his team into its actions, and taking responsibility for running the team. His ability to touch the paint gives the offense a way to force help, shift the defense, and create opportunities for teammates. The next step is continuing to pair that penetration with controlled pace and consistent reads so each advantage leads to a quality shot. As his handle, decision-making, and finishing continues to evolve, his lead-guard traits will allow him to impact the game as both a creator and facilitator.

-Pughsley had perhaps the most nuclear shooting performance of the weekend with seven 3s in the semifinal game (2 OTB, the rest OTC or off movement) to push his team to the championship game— where he immediately canned two 40′ bombs from the logo in the 1H of the championship matchup. Pughsley proved to be a tough shot-taker and tough shot-maker that excelled at creating for himself off the bounce without a ball screen. Loved his speed in the open floor as a dynamic PG looking to constantly attack to create advantage situations for his team in transition.
