About Decari
Expert Analysis

As a 7th grader, Decari was actually playing up an age group this weekend, but he still found a way to put on an impressive display of talent against guys a year older than him.
Decari’s 3-point game is sensational. In a Saturday win, he buried two step-back 3-pointers to start the game, setting the pace for a dominant win. He went 3-3 on 3-pointers in the first half of that game, and was a constant threat from distance during the 2-day event.
In leading his team to the finals of the Gold bracket, Decari also showed a nose for the ball on defense. He had a nice chase-down block on what looked like a wide open layup, and he’s relentless against whatever offensive player he’s matched up against.
Decari acknowledges his ability to score and pass at a high level. He has excellent court vision, and can drive hard in the paint, draw a double team, and kick the ball to an open man outside.
Decari will be a dangerous combo guard once he hits high school.

Decari was one of the most outstanding players of the weekend, and he was playing against kids a year older than him. He’s only finishing his 7th grade season, but played up a class during the Midwest Melee, bringing his team to the title game of the Gold bracket.
In one of Decari’s Saturday performances, he started the game with a pair of sick step-back 3-pointers to give his team an early momentum. And the kid is simply lethal from deep. He went 3-for-3 from behind the arc in the first half, and finished at least two of his games with a trio of 3-point makes.
Defensively, Decari plays with a nose for the ball-tracking down a nice block from behind when his opponent was on a fast break. Plus he’s a strong distributor, who makes clean passes, and can draw a double-team and kick the ball to a teammate.
Palmer takes pride in the intensity he brings every game. Even when the championship game was turning into a lopsided loss, he was still going 100%. He’s turning into one of the top players to watch in Illinois for the class of 2031.

Got a chance to see Decari last summer and he has upped his game in a couple facets. Wingspan has continued to increase with height. Utilizes both of these attributes defensively to get into the waist of ball handlers and create turnovers. Offensively he was unphased from 3 land knocking down a couple that were a few feet deeper than the arc line. Has a smooth stroke with range. Quick on the bounce getting to spots efficiently with some wiggle to compliment. Continues to be a well balanced scorer while shooting it at a high clip.
