The junior is a skilled ball handling guard with good length and a frame that suggests additional growth. His greatest strength is his perimeter shot making ability, but he also has excellent command of the basketball, changes speeds effectively and can finish in the paint over length and athleticism.

Dawit is a small guard who showed the ability to initiate the offense and bring three-ball value. He can get a possession started and provide a perimeter option, giving him ways to impact the game with his ball-handler and be a scoring threat from behind the arc and off the bounce. His outside shot is an important complement to his ability to initiate the offense because it gives defenders another responsibility when he has the rock. Ball security is a clear area of growth as Dawit has to value the ball more and understand that getting the team into offense includes protecting the possession. Playing with better control, recognizing when to move the rock, and avoiding unnecessary risks should be priorities as the season approaches. As his decisions become more dependable, he can make better use of his offensive tools and earn greater trust with the ball in his hands.
