Dawit Abraham
About Dawit
Expert Analysis
Van Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Dawit can score the ball in virtually every possible way. He shows the ability to attack the basket, hit jumpers off the catch or bounce, post up smaller players, or find opportunities without the ball in his hands. Dawit puts pressure on the rim and displays deep range from beyond the arc but also mixes it up enough to keep defenses constantly guessing. He also possesses rebounding prowess, defensive instincts, and capable playmaking ability. Given his current trajectory, Dawit should appeal to all types of college coaches. Average 9 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 block.

-Abraham was plagued with foul trouble for most of the game as a help defender that caught a tough whistle contesting shots around the basket. He did, however, find a way to make an impact at the offensive end by hitting all 3 of his field goal attempts on a day where the Tigers really struggled shooting the basketball. Abraham’s value as a floor-spacer that has improved his handle to attack closeouts more effectively makes him a solid connector off the bounce that is looking to make plays for his teammates.

-The senior shooter has done a great job of maximizing his opportunities this season as a wing that can really stretch the floor for a team with his shooting. Abraham has improved his ball-handling to attack closeouts more efficiently and is finding opportunities to chip in on the offensive glass as well. Expect his recruitment to pick up as local small colleges notice his value as a shooter that gets his own within the flow of the game.

-Abraham continues to impress in an enlarged role with the Tigers this season as a wing that can really space the floor with his shooting. While the 3 point shooting remains his marquee skill, I like that he is becoming more confident as a passer/connector from the wings that makes the right play to his teammates to keep the ball flowing and find the right shot. He’s got good positional size, continues to make improvements to his handle to attack closeouts more effectively
