Da’shon Fisher
About Da’shon
Expert Analysis
Rob Howe | Prep Hoops Scout
Fisher is a human highlight waiting to happen. The senior guard excited the home crowd with a steal and breakaway slam in the first half. He constantly puts pressure on defenses with his deft ability getting to the basket and finishing even when they know it’s coming. Given room, he can make opponents pay from the perimeter. He’s a tough, on-ball defender.

Fisher is one of the most explosive athletes in the state, using his quick first step and leaping ability to finish around the rim routinely. Last season he added a reliable mid-range game, and if he can extend that range out to the arc as a senior, watch out. A lefty who can move his feet on the defensive end, he has the physicality and athleticism to defend multiple positions. He averaged 17.4 points on 52.4% shooting as a junior.

An explosive athlete who thrives in this up-tempo style of play, Fisher put on a clinic in getting to the bucket throughout the afternoon. The powerful lefty never shies away from contact and is always looking to dunk on someone, whether that’s in transition or off a few dribbles from a catch on the wing. He’s certainly at his best when he’s playing downhill and attacking the rim, but his mid-range game has really developed nicely, and he’s adding more range to his arsenal. He’s a quality playmaker with good court vision who isn’t going to force something if it isn’t there. Another strong showing for the 2023 from Liberty.

An electric 6-2 combo guard, Fisher enjoyed a breakout junior year for the Lightning, averaging 17.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 2.1 assists a game while shooting over 52% from the floor. He uses his big, physical frame to bully defenders en route to the rim, where he looks to dunk on everyone. He has steadily improved his all-around offensive game, adding a mid-range game to his arsenal last year and now working to extend that range out to the arc.

One of the state’s most explosive athletes, Fisher looks to dunk everything on everyone’s head. He’s sure to provide some highlight reel plays on the 17th, especially when he’s able to get out in transition. But he’s more than just a great athlete; he’s worked hard to improve his jumper, starting with becoming a really strong mid-range player last year and working to extend his range out to the arc. His ability to get to the rim is his greatest asset, but the rest of the skill set is catching up rapidly.
