About Darien

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a defensive minded point guard who likes to play fast, pressure the ball, and make the right reads. I focus on setting my teammates up and scoring, seeing the floor, and improving both on and off the court.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I’m laid back and funny, easy to be around, but very focused when it’s time to compete. I love learning and getting better, I hate losing, and I bring good energy to the people around me while staying locked in on my goals.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I play AAU basketball with the Ballerz and the Freeze Summer AAU team. I’m also a member of the National Honor Society, and I was honored to be inducted into it. Additionally, I’m part of the Native American Student Association at my high school and the Osage Nation Native Youth Council.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

Through basketball and school, I’ve developed strong leadership and teamwork skills. I also enjoy giving back to my community through the National Honor Society at Pawhuska High School, The Honor Society helped organize a sock drive and a canned food drive.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I’ve faced significant challenges growing up. My father and uncle passed away in a car accident when I was 3, and I was raised by my mom, who worked hard to provide for us even through tough times. I also lost my grandmother, who struggled with addiction. These experiences taught me resilience, responsibility, and the importance of staying focused on my goals both on and off the court.

What type of college are you looking for?

I’m looking for colleges with strong basketball programs where I can continue to grow as a player and student. I’m very interested in OSU and their basketball program. OSU is one of my favorite teams

Exciting junior guard, with a great first step in the halfcourt and good end to end speed. Quality crossover further helps him get down hill in halfcourt. At the rim he’s a strong finisher for his size. Good hangtime in order to hit acrobatic shots against opponents around the rim. Has a nifty floater too. In the game watched, didn’t see him get his jumper going. Which will be needed if 9-8 Pawshuska is to make noise in the playoffs.
