Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
An NCBCA All-District selection as a junior, Prenger is set to lead Smoky Mountain High in a big way in 2025-26; he was a double-double machine this past season with 14 double-doubles on 19.4 ppg, 10.5 rpg, 1.6 apg and 1.5 spg as a junior with the Mustangs; his length and versatility should be on display even more given his development with NLPB Next Level Prospects Basketball on the grassroots stage; an active presence who knows how to make an impact on the floor

Prenger is a forward prospect who continues to rise in the 2026 class out of Smoky Mountain. He’s shown he can operate at either forward spot, given his mobility and ability to make things happen getting downhill. He produced 19.4 points, 10.5 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.5 steals per game in his junior year, raising his ppg average from 13.6 as a sophomore. He’s a prospect who’s continued to improve over the past few months and a prospect in WNC for DII/DIII/JUCO programs to get eyes on given his activity on the floor.

Prenger is an up and coming presence in the Smoky Mountain High frontcourt who put himself on the PH radar this past Sunday at The Expo: Carolinas. He’s a sizeable prospect at 6-foot-6 who showed he could work wonders in the high-post/short corner as well as around the rim. He even showed he could space the floor with his shooting stroke as well. He’ll prove to be a member of the 2026 class to track closely this fall.
