Sparks, a forward out of Rutland High School in Vermont, impacts games with a nice combination of athleticism, skill, and strength. The 6’5″ forward, physically, looks like he could be a high level tight end in college, with broad shoulders and a big, strong frame. He’s a plus athlete that is all over the rim in transition, does a nice job of attacking the paint off the bounce, and even shows the ability to knock down catch and shoot threes. Defensively, he’s a good rebounder, both in space and in traffic, and does a nice job of contesting without fouling around the rim. Sparks is one of the more under-the-radar forwards out of the public school ranks in New England, but I think he’ll be a terrific player at the next level and should be someone targeted at the Division III level.

Sparks, a senior forward out of Rutland High School, stands out with his combination of size, strength, and effort. He excels defensively as a rim protector, rebounder, and vocal back line of defense. Offensively, he has touch out to the three, allowing him to operate as a roller or pop guy out of screens. He can attack the basket in straight lines drives and has the athleticism to finisher over defenders at the rim. On top of that, he’s a terrific rim runner in transition.

Sparks, the #243 prospect overall and #49 ranked Power Forward, is one of the top prospects out of Vermont. At 6’5″, he has good size for the position and in the gym range on his jump shot. He does a nice job of playing as a pop man out of ball screens, while also showing the athleticism and power needed to finish around the rim. On the other end, he is a strong rebounder and a quality shot blocker that can protect the rim on and off the ball. He should be a highly coveted prospect at the Division III level that could impact a program as soon as he steps on campus.
