About Conrad

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I love playing for teams that are fast paced with an aggressive man-to-man defense. Pushing the ball after taking possession and working with knowledgeable players is fun.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I lock in at game time. I’m focused on what my coach and teammates are telling me and what they need from me. There is no growth without mistakes, so I don’t let a missed shot or a mistake get me down.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I volunteer at my church

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I ask a lot of questions to make sure I understand exactly what my coaches are asking of me. This helps me be a leader on the floor to my teammates when I need to call out plays and direct them where to go on the floor, change matchups or help direct the team to feed a mismatch if need be. Team basketball is the only ball I want to play, which Is why I love AAU. I don’t get that at my school.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

My school always has close to 30 on the team, so everyone is fighting for time and most coaches are all about even playing time in the younger grades. This leads to selfish play. I’ve always been taught and chosen to be a selfless player knowing it will pay off later when coaches are really starting to size a player up. It has helped me to see the court and make good passes.

What type of college are you looking for?

Everyone wants a big 16 of course. I’d be happy just to be invited to play college ball at all. My family has owned a tire and auto shop for 4 generations - almost 100 years. I would probably look at some sort of business administration degree.
