Colton is an insane athlete on the court, being able to play and defend multiple positions on the defensive end. He is strong down low, always going up with strength no matter who is down low. His game extends out to the three point line where he can knock down shots if he needs too or is left open.

Wells has been a tall wing who can hit the three-ball and defend the rim, but he’s shown big growth in his ability to score from different spots on the floor. He’s able to feel out defenders in the post better, playing stronger down near the hoop and using that improved feel to get a step on defenders and work around them in tight spaces. He’s also much improved in the midrange, developing better footwork to get into his shot and expanding his ability to create space by bumping defenders off and quickly getting balanced to rise up. He’s been a big factor in getting Freeman to the third spot in the 2B RPI and has them as serious contenders for the 2B title.

Colton’s length and athleticism stands out right when you watch him play. He flies all over the court, displaying insane jumping abilities. He defends at a high level, being able to guard inside and out. Wells knows how to find his spots and can knock down the three point shot consistently. He is a big time player who will have a huge year for Freeman next year with his game being more well rounded.

In the past, Wells has shown good potential as an athletic wing who can shoot the 3-ball and defend multiple positions. So far this spring his shot has looked even better and physically he’s looked stronger and more explosive. He is the type of player who can defend the rim, run the fast break, and stretch the floor at a high rate. Consistency is key, and Wells will be a kid to keep tabs on through the summer months.

Wells is a big guard who’s added a lot to his game over the course of the last year. Judging by the progress he’s made as a perimeter threat, I fully expect him to have a big season at Freeman this winter. He’s a guy who can use his size both offensively and defensively in the paint and has developed into a reliable 3-point shooter who can put it on the floor and make things happen at the rim.
