About Carter

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

Im more of an aggresive defensive, yet fluid offensive player. However, their is still much for me to learn about the game of basketball. Including, slightly more finesse and shooting with my left hand. While, I can do a layup with my left hand I can only shoot using my right hand. While I have been told my shot is extremely "tight", I believe their is still much more for me to do.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My mentality is the same, as David Goggins which is to push yourself until your breaking point, and then continue to push yourself even through that pain. This mentality has helped me gain 25 pounds of muscle after a surgery as I refused to let myself wallow from the pain.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Aside from being invited to play for 5 club teams (2 in barcelona), i don't have any other accolades, except that I am apart of an organization called John Hopkins Center for talented youth, and I passed multiple tri lingual state test,. Even though a few non-sports awards I have received are the Citizenship award, and a trophy for winning a local chess tournament.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I learned the importance of leadership and team work while I trained in Barcelona for a summer at the Pau Gasol summer camp, as they mentioned the importance of court awareness and how it is important to develop camaraderie with your team members. as it will show on the court.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A challenge I faced was an arm dislocation issue which caused my arm to dislocate in the middle of a game. My arm problem started because of the sudden growth at such a rapid pace my arm has began to have a hard time catching up. Recently, as I was recovering from the surgery, I decided to practice basketball and refine my left hand. This has helped me with veer layups and drawing fouls.

What type of college are you looking for?

Im still in Middle school (8th grade year). However, I am looking for a high school or a college to take me to the next level and help me further refine my game.
